19. The Flight Attendant

The phone rang at 4am.   
“Hello?”
“Crew Desk.  We have your assignment.”
Paris, please be Paris.  Or Sydney, oh, God, Sydney.  Early calls meant international trips. 
“Flight 1382.  L.A. to Detroit.  Layover 20 hours.  Have a safe flight.”
