65. First Doctor's Visit

The pediatrician smiled.  “First baby, then?”

“Yes,” replied Sarah, fumbling with her newborn’s pink pacifier.  “How can you tell?”
The diaper was on backwards.  “You have the happy glow of a new mommy.”
trifecta writing challenge:  use the word "new" (33 words)

  1. That doctor has a way with words. :)

  2. Haha that's great!!! I've put my nephew's diaper on backwards before. I realized before his mother saw though!

  3. *hahaha* You know, we practiced diapering a teddy bear before our son was born. :)

  4. Diplomatic. Been there with the obvious newbie mistakes! (I was like a pro with my second one...sort of :))

  5. Ha ha! Congrats on being one of the few to use the correct definition this week. I love this. It doesn't have to be a doctor--a mom on the playground would sub in nicely, too. Thanks for linking up.

  6. "The diaper was on backwards" I love the doctor's kindness combined with the mother's realization of what he must have understood. I never made my doctors stand still and hold my babies. I regret that. Those pictures are priceless.
